On 26 August 2015 the Road Safety Remuneration Tribunal issued the draft Contractor Driver Minimum Payments Road Safety Remuneration Order 2016 (draft Payments RSRO) and accompanying Statement.
The Tribunal has prepared a draft online payments calculator to assist drivers, hirers and others in the supply chain in long distance and supermarket distribution operations in the road transport industry with calculating the minimum payments contained in the draft Payments RSRO. The draft online payments calculator is currently being updated for the Contractor Driver Minimum Payments Road Safety Remuneration Order 2016.
The Tribunal invited interested persons to make written submissions or comments on the draft Payments RSRO and the draft online payments calculator.
Written submissions on the draft Payments RSRO closed at midday on 23 September 2015. Written comments in reply to those initial submissions closed at midday on 7 October 2015.
Comments or feedback about the online draft payments calculator closed on 23 September 2015.
The Tribunal issued amended Directions on 23 November 2015 and provided the opportunity for further written submissions to be made on the value that should be given to the individual inputs in the KPMG cost model and/or particular rates, if any, that the Tribunal should order as minimum payments for those covered by the draft Payments RSRO.
